Objektbeschreibung

Egon Eiermann, one of the most important German architects, created this villa in 1960 in the international style for the family of the Earl of Hardenberg. Next to his own private house, this cultural relic and contemporary masterpiece is one of the very few private mansions ever built by the famous architect. The flat-roofed building, designed in a timeless modern architectural style, is constructed in a horizontally developed "T" form with relatively long strung-out wings. The house uses the far-stretched, sunny site skilfully and divides it into three zones: the representative driveway, the intimately designed courtyard, and the large patio. Together with the terrace in combination with the swimming pool, the house forms two crossed lines. Here one has a panoramic view over the valley and the surrounding Black Forest heights. Offering absolute privacy, the house's 800 square metres living space and effective surface encompass two levels. Clear forms, clear colours, and clear details mark the incomparably beautiful building. Ferroconcrete, glass and brick alternate. Multi-coloured ceramic tiling, and tessellated floors give each room its own mood. Avant-garde tendriled steel tube constructions surround the house. Eiermann not only has designed the architecture of the villa, but also planned the detail-rich interior design with tiles, carpets, and furniture. The building is in an unchanged, original state, and stands for the cultural and architectural origin of modern villas.
