Fort Myers River District

Located on southwest Florida's Gulf Coast, Welcome to Fort Myers, Florida.  Located in Lee County, Fort Myers, Fort Myes Beach, Sanibel, Captiva Island, Cape Coral and Bonita Springs, to name a few, encompass this great paradise.  Let us help you make this your Paradise City.

The River District of Fort Myers, with its diverse character, is a city that embraces its rich history and heritage, while steadily progressing to meet the demands of the future.

Encompassing only 540 acres, what downtown lacks in size is certainly made up in its abundance of charm and character. An eclectic blend of architectural styles serves as the backdrop to many unique shops, art centers, museums, live theater and restaurants.

Take the time to experience the warm hospitality of Old Florida as you soak in downtown’s scenic views…from riverfronts to storefronts, Downtown Fort Myers provides a picture-perfect setting to shop, dine, live, work and play.

In 2002, a new downtown plan by new urbanism guru Andrés Duany was on its way.  The River District is bounded by East First Street at Seabord Avenue, the Caloosahatchee River, the Edison & Ford Winter Estates and the McGregor Boulevard/Dr. Martin Luter King Corridors.
