Double 8 Realty was established in 2007 by Mrs Duangjai Kraus and her husband Peter. After having lived in Phuket for many years and moved to Australia upon their return to Thailand they decided to settle down in Hua Hin as they preferred the less touristy, laid-back lifestyle, the mild climate and various golf courses in the area. Soon after, they became franchisees for Engel & Völkers for the Hua Hin area with the goal to establish the first international real estate brokerage in a still quite locally dominated market. By mid-2007 the first shop opened in the centre of Hua Hin and market presence, team and the shops’ property portfolio grew rapidly. Having known the brand from Europe they were still surprised about the recognition of the brand and the massive feedback they received within a short amount of time and within 2 years they decided to become Master License holder for all of Thailand. In the third quarter of 2009 the second shop under Double 8 Realty opened in Phuket with their new Head Office following just a few weeks later in Thonglor, one of Bangkok’s trendiest districts.

Double 8 Realty has an ambitious expansion planned with more shops to open during 2010 on the Eastern Seaboard and in other major residential areas in Bangkok. In the years to come Double 8 Realty will also open in other major resort destinations such as Koh Samui, Chiang Mai and Koh Chang.
