Location: Campolide, Lisbon

Campolide was once a good farming land, where there were several farms. The entire hillside was covered with olive groves, orchards, and vineyards. Currently, these hills "hide" a calm and safe neighborhood, with houses mostly from the 70s. Almost the entire neighborhood is made up of apartment buildings, but there is a very interesting area (the Calçada dos Mestres neighborhood) with a view of the Águas Livres aqueduct, where we find semi-detached houses with yards. Here live young people, the elderly, and families. There is the movement of those who leave in the morning and return at night, but also those who live here during the day: for a trip to the local grocery store, or to Amoreiras for other types of shopping. Most of the commerce is concentrated in this center, which was the largest in the city a few years ago. Despite being a calm neighborhood, all the traffic from the Center that moves either south or to the Cascais line (and the reverse in the morning) passes through here. And those who take that route will encounter the Águas Livres Aqueduct, an emblematic and grandiose work of Lisbon from the 18th century, a complex system of water collection and distribution to the city.
