The French Riviera, a unique living environment and varied landscapes

The Côte d'Azur benefits from a very pleasant climate with an exceptional amount of sunshine and mild temperatures. An invitation to a gentler way of life, as evidenced by the generous and lush vegetation in summer and winter. The French Riviera also has the advantage of offering different atmospheres to meet all desires. Cannes and Nice are two major cities with their feet in the water, while Saint-Tropez and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat are fancy seaside resorts. The villages of Saint-Paul-de-Vence or Mougins, as for them, give a picturesque face of the region.

A region that offers a lot of entertainment of all kinds

The Côte d'Azur is a very touristy region and offers a highly developed range of entertainment, especially in the summer. If you like culture or shopping, you should go to Nice or Cannes. For gambling, there are many famous casinos all along the Mediterranean Sea. For hiking or mountain biking, the hinterland is an ideal playground. As for those who like to relax or dive, they will find their happiness on the many beaches and creeks of the region.

An accessible territory benefiting from an international influence

If the Côte d'Azur attracts an international population, it is because it is very accessible. It is served by the international airports of Marseille-Provence, Nice Côte d'Azur, Toulon-Hyères and Avignon. As well as by the TGV train stations of Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Marseille. A transportation network that strongly benefits its international reputation, especially through renowned events such as the Cannes Film Festival.

A dynamic economic environment in a multi-sector region

Although the Côte d'Azur has managed to establish itself as a major tourist region in France, it has not relied on this single vector to develop its economy. Indeed, it is also home to cutting-edge activities, particularly in the medical, research and innovation sectors. A center of excellence has developed in these fields thanks to the presence of the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, the CNRS and the laboratories of INSERM and INRA.

A gastronomy that puts local products in the spotlight

Region with a very marked terroir, the French Riviera offers many typical culinary specialties. Strongly influenced by the sea, the cuisine of the French Riviera puts the spotlight on fish. One can taste the bourride and the bouillabaisse, respectively soup and dish based on fish, but also the famous pan bagnat, socca and ‘petits farcis’. The olive is very famous in the region and is used to make the tapenade that is eaten as an aperitif. There are also specialties to delight lovers of sweetness, such as calissons, a confectionery mixing candied melon and almonds, or the famous ‘Tarte Tropézienne’.

A rich real estate market in the image of a plural region

On the French Riviera, there is a multitude of high-end properties that will seduce lovers of luxury real estate, whatever their tastes. In the historic centers of Cannes and Nice, you can still guess a flamboyant past thanks to the magnificent Art Deco residences. For those who wish to treat themselves to a sea view, it is possible to acquire sumptuous contemporary villas along the coast and waterfront properties in the Var, for example. And in the unspoilt hinterland, it is possible to find bastides and other Provencal mas in the heart of vast wooded parks.
