This town is situated in the northwest of Madrid in a privileged enclave near the mountains of Madrid, with a population of about 20,000 inhabitants. It counts with very good access to the capital, with good roads and a great public transport service. In Villanueva de la Cañada there are two universities, different public and private schools, as well as a large water park that is a tourist attraction during the summer months. There are also important golf courses. Villanueva de la Cañada is characterized by its urbanizations, which place it among the towns with the highest per capita income in the province. The urbanization La Raya del Palancar is located in a natural setting of great beauty, bordering the Regional Park of the middle course of the Guadarrama River. As it is not located near busy highways or large urban centers, it allows the families living within the municipality to maintain security and privacy. Nevertheless, the towns of Villanueva de la Cañada, Brunete, Boadilla del Monte or Majadahonda are within an easy reach. The bus number 626 of the Consorcio de Transportes de la Comunidad de Madrid links the urbanization with Villanueva de la Cañada, Majadahonda and finally Las Rozas. By car there are three accesses: a direct link with Brunete through the so-called Camino de las Vacas; by the M-513 road, which links Boadilla del Monte and Brunete, and directly from Villanueva de la Cañada.
