The Cesalpina development is located in the municipality of Santa Coloma de Cervelló, in the Baix Llobregat region, province of Barcelona. It is situated on the slopes of the Montpedrós mountain, in a privileged natural setting that offers tranquility, good views, and a direct connection with nature. Cesalpina extends along Avenida Conde Ramon Berenguer, from Plaza de los Eucaliptos to Can Cartró, touching the boundaries with Torrelles de Llobregat. It is made up of streets such as Marià Fortuny, Apel·les Mestres, Pompeu Fabra, or Joaquim Ruyra, among others. Originally conceived in the 1960s as a holiday city under the slogan “Cesalpina, holiday city,” it was declared a National Tourist Interest Center in 1969. Over time, it has evolved into a stable residential area, with approximately 1,131 inhabitants in 2023. The development has community services such as the Casal Municipal, headquarters of the Cesalpina Neighborhood Association, which organizes cultural, social, and festive activities like the Fiesta Mayor, promoting cohesion and coexistence among residents. In recent years, Cesalpina has undergone significant infrastructure improvements, such as the renovation of public lighting with LED technology and works to reinforce slopes to prevent landslides. Despite some pending urban planning challenges, such as adapting certain buildings to current regulations or the lack of parking spaces, it remains a very attractive place to live, thanks to its natural environment and proximity to Barcelona.
