Engel & Völkers Yachting starts operations on Majorca

Yachting division of the real estate company opens first shop on Majorca
Team to provide consultation and brokerage of yachts

Port Adriano, 20 April 2010. The Yachting division of the property company Engel & Völkers, with headquarters based in Hamburg, Germany, is now additionally represented on the island of Majorca. Based at the marina in Porto Adriano, located around 10 kilometres from the capital Palma, the team of Managing Directors Andreas Heider, Leonard Lang and Jan Schmidt is now offering expert consultancy in the brokerage of high-class yachts. Moreover, staff are on hand to provide advice and information to interested clients regarding all aspects of financing and yacht chartering, as well as the sale and leasing of boat moorings. The ambitious and service-oriented team already has almost 20 years experience in the yachting sector and enjoys access to an international pool of contacts through the global Engel & Völkers network. This latest opening marks the fifth company office to begin operations, alongside subsidiaries in Madrid, Marbella, London and Hamburg.

Majorca forms the centre point for yachting enthusiasts in the Mediterranean, as well as being a popular destination for a discerning clientele throughout the year. The marina of Porto Adriano is currently being redesigned according to state-of-the-art drafts by designer Philippe Starck and will, upon completion, comprise around 490 moorings for yachts of up to 60 metres in length.

Alongside the sale and leasehold of prestigious properties, Engel & Völkers has also been operating in the brokerage of yachts since November 2007, making it one of the first global real estate companies to enter the yachting market. Its operations focus here on the brokerage and charter of luxury vessels. The company has a wide-reaching network of shops and offices in 34 countries spread across four continents, as well as an extensive clientele reflecting the relevant target group. We have the advantage that we already enjoy close ties with those clients interested in exceptional homes in prime locations who may very well also be prospective buyers or charterers of luxury yachts at the same time, said Christian Völkers, CEO of Engel & Völkers AG.
