Medieval Rose Festival

The Medieval Rose Festival is organised by non-profit organisation Medieval Rose in cooperation with the municipality of Rhodes and the prefecture of Dodecanese. Since 2006, the festival has been held on the last weekend in May and includes medieval music, a medieval market and various other attractions.

Melina Merkouri Theatre (Θέατρο της Μεσαιωνικής Τάφρου «Μελίνα Μερκούρη»)

During the summer months, a variety of events and performances take place at the “Melina Merkouri“ Theatre, which has been named after the actress, singer and politician with the same name.

Archaeological Museum of Rhodes

The Archaeological Museum is located in the former hospital of the Order of the Knights of St. John. The museum exhibits antique art treasures and findings from all over the Dodecanese.

Modern Greek Art Museum (Μουσείο Νεοελληνικής Τέχνης)

The Museum of Modern Greek Art houses paintings and sculptures by important artists from the 20th century. These exhibitions focus on presenting Greek history from the perspective of 20th century artists. The museum showcases works by artists Giannis Tsarouchis, Giorgios Bouzianis and Konstantinos Maleas.

National Theatre of Rhodes

The National Theatre of Rhodes was constructed in 1937 during the period of Italian occupation and was given the name “Teatro Puccini“. It was considered one of the most modern theatres of the time, which meant it also presented opera performances. The theatre building, which is located in the town hall district, impresses with its unique architecture. Today, it is used for both theatre performances and film screenings.
