Forest Lakes Country Club – Living in the most economically sustainable places in the world

04.07.2013

Forest Lakes Country Club will be built with the help of the Canadian development company, Terra Firma Development Corporation, who is known as a pioneer when it comes to sustainable and environmentally friendly constructions. The club will be built out of eco-friendly materials to create bioclimatic lifestyles for the customers.

The landscape of Canada is very unique with the eco system being incredibly complex and delicate at the same time. Canada offers the most serene forests, wetlands, and lakes.

The Forest Lakes Country Club in Nova Scotia is part of the Canada Green Building Council, an organisation that accelerates the design and construction of green buildings, contribute our learning and also mastermind with other visionaries.
The resort is a building project which is considered to be environmentally sustainable. It fulfils the ecological, social and economic requirements of present and future generations which are the basis of the Bruntland Commission’s definition of sustainability.

The goal of Nova Scotians is to ‘have a cleaner, greener and more economically sustainable province. This region should become one of the most environmentally and economically sustainable places in the world by 2020.’  Energy is already produced by a variety of alternative solutions, for example by geothermal heating, recycling of waste water, solar panels and wind power.

Water is reused for irrigation and to insulate the homes with combi-boilers which are super smart to keep one warm and cosy.

In summary, one can say instead of carving a divide between nature and people, this club represents the open door flowing inspiration between the two.  Because of the environmentally intuitive design, you almost won’t be able to feel the difference in air between outside and inside.
