Happy Valley is primarily made up of upper income residential units with a wide range of space whose residents include of a mix of Hong Kong natives and foreigners. Two of the tallest residential buildings in Hong Kong, “Highcliff” and “The Summit”, are located in Happy Valleyand boast impressive views over Hong Kong from the hills that surround the valley including Hollywood Road, Stubbs Road and Tai Hang Road. Happy Valley is an ideal location not only because of its unique geography, but because it is less densely populated than the rest of Hong Kong and is close in proximity to several schools, such as French International School FIS, Island School and Marymount Girls School.
Happy Valley is also the home to the arena of one of Hong Kong’s most beloved sports: horse racing. The racetracks come alive every Wednesday and Sunday night with tourists and locals alike, enjoying the electrifying atmosphere, food and drink and, of course, betting. With some of the world’s best tracks, world-class race meets and a lively crowd, it is an experience rarely replicated on other racetracks.
