The most famous high fashion boutiques area in Venice is that of “Mercerie”(i.e. Haberdashers), connecting Piazza San Marco to Rialto area: this part of Venice has always been the main connection between the religious-political center and the commercial center, and so is still today. The streets connecting these two centers are full of local merchants promoting their various goods: jewelry, fashion, masks, daily groceries, souvenirs, typical venetian glass and so on.
However, if you are looking for luxury shopping, in the “calle delle Mercerie” you will find some of the greatest Italian and international exclusive brands like Cartier, Gucci, Krizia, Furla and many others.
Moreover, you also should have a walk in the famous “Calle Larga XXII Marzo”, a few steps from Piazza San Marco: here you can find the most prestigious clothing and accessories shops from the most important designers boutiques, such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Bruno Magli, Versace, Burberry, Damiani, etc.
Generally the shops stay open all year long from monday to saturday, from 9:00 / 9:30 to 12:30 / 13:00, and from 15:30 / 16:00 to 19:30 / 20:00. In the main touristic and central areas of the city such as San Marco or Rialto, however, you can also find several shops open on sundays and holidays.
