The requested law clarifications will allow the property market to unlock contracts, and start posting again healthy sales volume figures, a fact that will trigger a stop sign in further price drops the real estate market already experiences for six consecutive years. The Greek State is expected to finalise this issue by mid-February so to truly unlock the whole real estate market, and even allow an added thin tax stream to reach the Public Accounts.

It should be noted that while prices are at the present low levels, sales can be reserved in advance, through well instructed preliminary notary agreements. Our office’s legal reps can contribute in win-win deals, in order to finalise  transfers once the State releases the final articles of the capital gains Tax Law.
