Just two months after the birth of daughter Rose Dorothy, Scarlett Johannsson is allegedly in search of a house in Los Angeles. A few months ago, she moved to New York with her fiancé Romain Dauriac from his home city of Paris where she gave birth to her first child.
Since the 30 year old is already back at work filming after her brief maternity leave, she is most likely looking for a new residence close to the Hollywood studios. Not long ago, she was seen viewing a Spanish style villa in Los Feliz. However, the viewing was unsuccessful and rumour has it that the estate was not private enough. Los Feliz is located in the immediate vicinity of Los Angeles and this has a lot to offer.
The City of Angels
The City of Angels is probably best known internationally for its beautiful, if somewhat less than angelic inhabitants globally recognised for their successes on stage and screen. For the majority of residents, however, Los Angeles is very simply just a great place to live, with a diverse culture, beautiful scenery, and more than 300 days of sunshine each year. With property prices on the up, there’s no time like the present to consider joining them and making an investment in the Los Angeles property market.
Home to over ten million residents, with a metropolitan area that stretches over 500 square miles, Los Angeles is by no means a small city. There’s a huge range of districts and neighbourhoods to choose from, each with its own demographics and characteristics designed to appeal to different audiences. Atmospherically surrounded by the Transverse Ranges Mountains, the San Fernando Valley is a popular choice with international buyers, as is Brentwood, also known as the home of several award-winning actors. The beach community of Malibu is an unsurprisingly popular holiday home spot, with investors flocking to the sunlit streets and glamorous mansions.
Living in L.A
Although Los Angeles is by no means a one-show town, the proximity of Hollywood does attract a number of leading lights from the creative industries. Prospective residents of a more business-like frame of mind shouldn’t be put off, however, as the glitterati bring with them a whole host of gourmet restaurants and fabulous clubs that anyone with a reservation can enjoy. There’s a vast range of cuisines to choose from, partially thanks to the large expatriate communities recreating the tastes of home in LA – to resounding approval. Vegetarians are particularly well-catered for, but there are also several excellent Mexican, Asian and European eateries.
