One of the unique aspects of Lekwena is the excellent location – only 11km outside the city of Potchefstroom in the North West Province and an hour’s drive from Johannesburg. This provides owners the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of life on a wildlife estate without having to sacrifice on good schools, medical centers, shopping centers or careers. Another unique aspect is that this is a low density wildlife estate – when developed at full capacity the density on Lekwena will be less than a mere 5%. This means that owners can enjoy privacy and exclusivity.

There are several picnic spots and boma-areas where owners can host their private functions or enjoy a peaceful weekend braai with family or friends. Lekwena also has an airstrip for light aircraft making it only a short 25 minute flight from Gauteng.

Lekwena Wildlife Estate habitat and wildlife

The habitat on the Lekwena Wildlife Estate is diverse – adding to the beauty and uniqueness of the reserve. Owners can choose a stand according to their preferences and they can choose between rocky outcrops, wetlands, bushveld and savannah.

The reserve is home to approximately 2000 head of game with 20 antelope species and 163 identified bird species – making Lekwena a bird lover’s paradise.  Lekwena features 20 Dams and kilometers of long and winding game viewing routes to create the perfect setting for spotting the wildlife in their natural habitat.

Several security systems are in place to ensure the safety of the owners as well as the wildlife on the estate. Security booms at the two villages on the estate: Sunset Creek Village and Kiepersol Village, live feed camera systems that are monitored from the ALS Group’s head quarters, extensive security measures at the main entrance and contractors entrances as well as 24 hour security patrols are just a few of these.
