The famous artist Christo has chosen Lake Iseo for his next spectacular project, called “The Floating Piers”. For just over 2 weeks, in June 2016, floating walkways lined with bright yellow fabric will create a walkway on Lake Iseo, joining the main land to the lake islands. Visitors will be able to walk on the work, atop some 200,000 fabric-lined floatable cubes stretching for almost 2 miles, but it was also designed to be seen from the mountains above.
Mountains, lakes, Thermal Baths, high level gastronomy and art : the city of Bergamo and its Province is the home of Gaetano Donizetti and Caravaggio, it is connected to all of Europe thanks to its international airport and only 30 minutes from Lake Iseo.
Every year in May starts the Mille Miglia, the legendary oldtimer race. The route brings the VIP participants during four days more than 1,700 kilometers across the Bella Italia, from Brescia down to Rome and from there back to the start. Hollywood actors Jeremy Irons and Adrien Brody, talk show legend Jay Leno and many others participated in “the most beautiful race in the world”.
