Altea, a beautiful town with a touch of magic, on the Mediterranean coast. Protected by the Bernia ridge, in the gap between the sea and the mountains, Altea is given a microclimate created by the Mediterranean Sea being able to enjoy glorious sunshine almost every day of the year. Altea has been and remains a fishing village where artists, like poets, painters, writers and musicians, find a place of inspiration…
The attraction of this town is the infinite variety of charming sites:
On the one hand The Old Town, where a variety of restaurants with a cuisine that makes Altea a place to come for lunch or dinner, sits on a hill where the point corresponds to the church bell tower and large domes topped by unique blue and white tiles. From the church square the whole Altea cost line can be seen. From here you find a maze of staggered and cobbled streets, with a display of colors and scents, white of its houses, turquoise from the Mediterranean, fuchsia of the bougainvilleas and the smell of orange blossom from the orange and lemon groves. The charm of this part of Altea is its many craft shops, art galleries and restaurants with terraces where you can enjoy magical nights.

Another recommendable area to cover is the Altea coastline from Mascarat to El Albir. The Mediterranean breaks here with a special sound, different from the rest of the coast, due to the boulders and rocks of the beautiful beaches. Also the countless coves found along its coastline invites to plenty of water sports and diving.
The Promenade, with its variety of restaurants and terraces, is another place where you can enjoy the typical cuisine with local products from both the sea and the countryside. Walk or cycle the promenade from Albir to Altea is a privilege that filled with sensations.
Then we have the Bernia ridge (Sierra de Bernia), with its peaceful urbanizations, from where you enjoy spectacular views over the Altea bay and find all the amenities necessary for a great quality of life.
The two ports: the Marina which is located in the center of Altea, and the ancient port of Campomanes, called Marina Greenwich today, where you have moorage for larger vessels and where you can enjoy the special charm of the harbor life with its shops, fancy restaurants and water sports.
Ultimately, Altea is a place where you come “empty” to feed the soul with all the gifts and sensations this region gives us.
