Engel & Völkers French Riviera Yachting

The Côte d’Azur is often known as the French Riviera, the Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France, including the sovereign state of Monaco. The coastline was one of the first modern resort areas. It began as a winter health resort for the British upper class at the end of the 18th century. With the arrival of the railway in the mid-19th century, it became the playground and vacation spot of British, Russian and other aristocrats. In summer, it also welcomed many members of the Rothschild family. In the first half of the 20th century, the French Riviera was frequented by artists and writers, including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse as well as wealthy Americans and Europeans. Many celebrities have today a home in the region. Officially, the Côte d’Azur is home to 163 nationalities and around 84 000 foreign residents.

The beautiful French Riviera with its luxury villas and glamorous lifestyle is the most attractive place in the Mediterranean for Yacht owners. It offers tranquillity but is also a host of sensations. There is so much to explore while cruising at the French Riviera, from exquisite port side restaurants in St. Jean Cap Ferrat to peaceful anchorages at the Iles des Lerins in front of the coast of Cannes.

The Engel & Völkers Regional Market Center is situated in Nice, the main entry point to the French Riviera thanks to its convenient vicinity of  Nice/Côte d’Azur airport.
