No plans for this romantic day? This special day once a year is for many an excuse to go with their partner somewhere romantic. Many hotels and restaurants organize for this day something special. Restaurants tend to have special menus, and settings where as hotels organize romantic getaways for couples where they will be able to relax, and have a very relaxed and romantic weekend.
Sa Rua and Sa Rueta Carnival February 14-15 all day
Sa Rua & Sa Rueta are two street carnivals that take place over a weekend in Palma de Mallorca with a procession of floats and parties all in costumes.
The Sa Rueta is the children’s carnival and parade, and takes place on Saturday February 14th. Sa Rua is the adult version and is held on the Sunday February 15th. There are prizes for the best costumes and the procession will march down Avenida Jaime III onto the Passeig del Born and on to Placa Joan Carles and Carrer Union.
Ballet Gala, 21 February 2015 – 22 February 2015
Following the success of last year’s inaugural ‘Gala de Ballet’, Palma’s 3rd Ballet Season includes this gala night, bringing together some of the best dancers from the most prestigious companies in Europe. Laura Macias and Gavin de Paor direct the innovative choreography for this night of classical and neoclassical ballet.

The Day of the Balearic Islands is a public holiday in Mallorca. It is celebrated every year on the 1st of March, in commemoration of the signing of the Statute of Autonomy on 1st March 1983. The festivities are varied and include a variety of traditional markets, children’s activities, and concerts.
