Do you know the history of Nell Gwynn House on Sloane Avenue?

Nell Gwynn House
This extravagant building, which is named after one of the Kings’ 13 mistresses, was built in the mid 1930’s in a classical modern style.

The extremely beautiful Nell Gwynn was born in 1650 in humble origin. In her early teens, she was engaged to go to the King’s Theatre to sell oranges to the royal family. This changed her life completely when she caught the eye of King Charles ll. Nell Gwynn was the best known and least “greedy” of the Kings’ 13 mistresses.

Nevertheless she was the reason the King purchased all of the land that is nowadays known as King’s Road and famous for its many beautiful boutiques, restaurants and cafes. And even though the street must have changed a lot since the times when King Charles ll used to walk on it to visit his “pretty, witty Nell”, it is still one of the most famous roads in Chelsea. The building has become one of the most desirable addresses in this area in which to live or own an investment property.

If you would like to see the famous house where Nell Gwynn lived you can now book a viewing to see one of the beautiful apartments we have to let in the building and find the pictures here.
