MIPIM: Conference on the French Riviera

MIPIM: Conference on the French RivieraTomorrow, on Tuesday, MIPIM once again opens its doors in Cannes for visitors and exhibitors from all over the world.

The international property trade fair for residential and commercial properties is taking place between 10 and 13 March on the Côte d’Azur. Important representatives of the European and global property market are coming together to exchange experiences. With 20,000 participants on average, it is the largest property trade fair in the world. Since 1990, the who’s who of the international property market have met here every year in March at the Palais des Festivals on the famous “Promenade de la Croisette”. Exceptional real estate projects are awarded with MIPIM awards.

While the Expo Real in Munich, which has taken place every year in October since 1998, revolves around specific property deals, networking comes first at MIPIM. See and be seen? “The atmosphere at MIPIM is considerably more relaxed than at the Expo”, explains Kai Wolfram, Executive Partner at Engel & Völkers Investment Consulting GmbH who is visiting the trade fair yet again. Wolfram goes on to say that “MIPIM is a platform for networking, acquisition and presentation. Issues are presented, discussed, initiated and prepared. Specific transactions usually only follow in the aftermath”. An important contact fair at the decision making level, then? “Participants in MIPIM are exclusively professional and institutional market participants in the real estate market at the decision making level – in contrast to the Expo at which many “professional” visitors and employees from within the corporate structures also take part”, explains Wolfram. Engel & Völkers Commercial will be represented with a booth on the terrace of the “Frankfurt am Main” stand at the fair.

Naturally, Cannes also has additional merits: Whether eating lunch on the yacht or while at the party with a view of the Mediterranean, networking could be definitely be more unpleasant. Still looking for a tourist attraction for after the fair? Read our tips for around Cannes!
