Yachting Description: SY FOX II is a ketch built to be sailed. Unlike its more modern counterparts used for luxury entertaining close in to shore, SY FOX II has oceangoing capability engineered into its sleek form. She has journeyed twice around the world in its 32 years to date. The maintenance log is extensive. Since acquiring the FOX II in 2010, the current owners, have spent €1.7million upgrading the ketch’s hull, rigging, systems equipment and interior. SY FOX II is fully equipped for journeys in high comfort. It can accommodate a substantial passenger count (as well as crew; sailing the twin-masted ketch demands the attention of a captain plus two mates). Below decks there are four cabins, three bathrooms each with shower, and two saloons, sleeping a total of eleven. The master’s en suite cabin itself comprises a double bed and two bunks. When Hollywood needed a photogenic setting for its 2012 release “The Cold Light of Day” starring Bruce Willis & Sigourney Weaver, the Fox II was chosen as the perfect vehicle. Film Director Mabrouk El Mechri utilized the yacht’s sumptuous form extensively, capturing its exhilarating lines through long aerial shots and low level angles. Save climbing aboard the ketch in person, these views are perhaps the closest one can get to the true splendor of the Fox.
