Canada: Engel & Völkers directs expertise at Chinese clients
Hamburg/ Canada, 17 May 2016. Engel & Völkers has opened a residential property shop in the Canadian city of Markham, centrally located in the Greater Toronto Area. The services offered by the team are special for the fact that they are aimed at a Chinese-speaking clientele. “Over 30 percent of the population in Markham is of Chinese origin. We are in a position to serve this client group on an equal footing as our real estate agents speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin,” said Sophia Hu, Managing Partner of Engel & Völkers Markham.
The residential property shop is located on Woodbine Avenue in Markham’s central business district. From here, the real estate agents broker premium residential property throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Prestigious neighbourhoods include the Devil’s Elbow and the Grandview Community, as well as Unionville. Residential property in these areas can fetch sale prices of up to approx. 5.5 million euros (the equivalent of 8 million Canadian dollars). A large number of high-tech and sciences companies are located in Markham, drawing many skilled professionals from around the world. As a result, the city’s population of 349,000 is made up of a variety of different cultures. Chinese native speakers form the second largest population group, after English native speakers.
