Engel & Völkers on the Spanish mainland has launched the new business segment “Fincas Exclusivas”, featuring prestigious and historic properties. It will deal with the brokerage of exclusive vineyards, country estates, fincas and hunting residences in the regions of Madrid, Toledo, Extremadura and Andalusia. The portfolio will also include historic properties, cloisters and castles, which could possibly be converted into unique second homes.
The new business segment is being managed by the Engel & Völkers Market Center in Madrid. “Many of our clients have country residences outside of Madrid and enquire as to whether we can broker these too,” reports Paloma Pérez, Managing Director of the Engel & Völkers Market Center in Madrid. This new initiative is based on the example of the “Castles & Manor Houses” business segment in Germany.
Óscar Larrea, Head of the new business segment, added: “The current demand for country homes in Spain is down to an international clientele”. He is anticipating that the level of interest will continue to rise, continuing: “Now is the right time for this kind of property. The tense political and economic situation in some South American countries is just one factor that is making the market in Spain for luxury second homes very attractive.”
