On the 15th of July the curtain will rise for the 62nd edition of Puccini Festival, one of the most anticipated events of the rich cultural life of Tuscany, the most important opera festival in Italy and the only one in the world dedicated to the composer Giacomo Puccini.
Over the years this event has achieved an international reputation because it is able to attract thousands of spectators from around the world.
During the Puccini Festival you have the opportunity to listen to the greatest opera stars, under the stage managing of important orchestra directors, and to admire extraordinary exhibitions curated by the most famous directors of Puccini’s masterpieces including Madama Butterfly, Turandot, La Bohème, Tosca.
Puccini’s operas go on stage in a large open-air theater of 3.400 seats, on the shore of the lake Massaciuccoli, surrounded by greenery just in front of Puccini House Museum where there are the remains of the musician and where you can see the memorabilia of the life and the artistic career of the glorious Puccini.
For this edition the great classics of Puccini will take place in 14 nights:
- Tosca: on the 15th July and on the 6th and the 11th August
- Bohème: on the 16th and the 22nd July and on the 5th August
- Turandot: on the 23rd and the 30th July and on the 12th August
- Madama Butterfly: onthe 29thJuly, on the 10th August
In the billboard 2016 of Torre del Lago festival there is the proposal of the Turandot opera by Ferruccio Busoni, Tuscan composer too.
