The port city of Catania is the second-largest city on Sicily. Its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and now it boasts yet another highlight: the 800th location for Engel & Völkers. With the opening of an Engel & Völkers shop in Catania, there are now a total of 800 Engel & Völkers residential property shops, commercial offices, yachting shops, market centers and property lounges in operation worldwide. The Engel & Völkers shop operated by the managing partners Antonio Carnazza, Luca Venora and Mario Schininà and their team of six is located just a stone’s throw from the sea and the Corso Italia, one of the most desirable addresses in the entire city.
The Engel & Völkers shop in Catania is now the sixth Engel & Völkers shop on the Italian Island. Catania is situated on the Ionian coast at the southwest foot of Etna, the largest and most active volcano in Europe. “Properties with sea views or located on the coast are particularly sought-after,” said Antonio Carnazza (far right). The most exclusive addresses in Catania include the Corso Italia, Vita Etnea, and the “Lungomare”, in addition to the municipalities to the north of the city like Aci Castello on the coast. “The top price per square metre reached in the past 24 months was 3,900 euros in first-class locations. Otherwise, prices per square metre ranged between 2,300 and 3,300 euros,” Luca Venora (second from right) reported. Mario Schininà revealed: “International buyers mainly originate from Germany, France and Switzerland.”
