Engel & Völkers has brokered around 65 percent of the freehold apartments in the “STRANDHAUS by Richard Meier” in Hamburg’s HafenCity district, around six months after they first went on sale. The new high quality development with 68 apartment units is being realised in a joint venture between Quantum Immobilien AG and Engel & Völkers AG. “The rapid sale of the apartments has already exceeded our expectations, and reflects the strong interest from our clients in the architectural merit of this new building,” said Christian Völkers, CEO/ Founder of Engel & Völkers AG.

Built by the water: Star architect Richard Meier adds new gem to the HafenCity
The “STRANDHAUS” forms part of a building complex with an architectural design envisaged by the renowned firm Richard Meier & Partners Architects LLP New York. The development is taking shape on a plot of approx. 3,100 square metres in the heart of Hamburg’s HafenCity. It presides over an above-ground gross floor space of around 20,000 square metres. Once completed, the ensemble will consist of three main parts: the “STRANDHAUS by Richard Meier” with high-end freehold apartments, the new Engel & Völkers headquarters, and 30 rental apartments.
