Engel & Völkers Yachting is building on its market position in the Mediterranean with a new shop in Monaco. “The principality is one of the most important yachting centres in the world, with no less than two renowned marinas – Port Hercule and Port de Fontvieille,” said Anissa Mediouni, CEO of Engel & Völkers Yachting, emphasizing the significance of this new opening. The Engel & Völkers yachting shop is located on the Quai Jean-Charles Rey, directly on Port de Fontvieille.
Monaco: an international yachting hotspot
Industry gatherings such as the Monaco Yacht Show underline the role the principality plays as an international yachting centre. “Many of our prospective clients are frequently in Monaco either for business or pleasure, and with our new yachting shop we can now advise and support them personally,” said Anissa Mediouni. In addition to the purchase and sale of yachts, the range of services provided by the Engel & Völkers Yachting team on Port de Fontvieille also encompasses the management of new builds and refits, as well as yacht charter.
Charter is becoming more and more popular
The charter segment is currently enjoying a strong increase in demand. In the Mediterranean, the charter season is from May through to September. It reaches its peak in the summer months of July and August. The majority of interested clients begin their search for a suitable yacht in March and April. Many of the newest and most desirable yachts are often booked out a year in advance. Yachts of between 40 and 50 metres in length, with high-end facilities, ample space and a professional crew, are extremely sought-after. Charter costs for a yacht like this can range from 120,000 to 220,000 euros for a one-week trip, excluding auxiliary costs such as fuel, meals, mooring fees and taxes.
