First E&V Day in Italy

“Create your Success” – this was the motto of the E&V Day in Italy. It marked the very first time that Engel & Völkers held an E&V Day outside of Germany. The venue for the event end of November was the “Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia” in Milan. Sven Odia, CEO of Engel & Völkers AG, and Philipp Niemann, Managing Director of E&V Residential GmbH and E&V Italia S.r.l., officially opened the E&V Day and extended a warm welcome to more than 260 participating licence partners, real estate agents and assistants.

Engel & Völkers in Italy – a success story

Christoph Feigenbutz, Engel & Völkers Country Manager Italy, then gave a brief synopsis of the success of Engel & Völkers in Italy. Net commission revenues and the number of real estate agents operating in Italy have increased considerably in the past few years. “Engel & Völkers provided the foundation stone for the success of our real estate agents, with its unique system. However, they have to go the final step on their own. They have to really jump into action,” said Mr. Feigenbutz. He emphasized this point with a quote from Leonardo Da Vinci: “Il sapere non è sufficiente, dobbiamo applicare. Il volere non è sufficiente, dobbiamo fare” (which roughly translates to: “Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Being willing is not enough, we must do.”)

The Engel & Völkers network as a success factor

Christoph Feigenbutz then asked some other experts up onto the stage: Marco Rognini, Engel & Völkers Managing Director of the MC Rome, Alberto Cogliati, Engel & Völkers Expansion Director Italy, and Dirk Beller, Engel & Völkers Head of Commercial. They all spoke about the Engel & Völkers network as a guarantor for success. Furthermore, they reported on the great potential for synergies between the company’s Residential and Commercial divisions, and how important the Engel & Völkers network is in generating these synergies.

The path towards the success

Guest speaker of the event was Simone Moro. The mountaineer explained what an alpinist needs to be successful and drew parallels between this and the work of a real estate agent. The success factors he brought up included motivation, courage, preparation and commitment. But he also spoke about how important it is to be able to deal properly with the fear of failure, and still find the best possible route.

“Create your success”: the future in your hands

There is a strong focus on digital transformation at Engel & Völkers. Christian Evers, Member of the Board of Engel & Völkers AG, therefore presented the company’s new digital features and tools. This included the presentation of innovations like Matterport, a tool that allows clients virtual property viewings. Another important tool is the Exposé App, which lets real estate agents create property descriptions in a matter of minutes.
