A picturesque and quiet white town located between the Parque de Los Alcornocales, the Sierra de Cádiz and the beaches of Vejer, with wonderful views towards the old lagoon of la Janda. Its history dates back to prehistoric times, evidenced by its famous cave paintings and tombs found within the hill caves overlooking the Celemín and Barbate reservoirs - a perfect location for bird watching - griffon vultures, storks, cranes, egrets etc. and occasionally imperial eagles - on their migratory route to Africa. An ideal starting point for the Bull Route, the White Villages Route, the Green Corridor of the 2 bays, but also to visit the Phoenician city of Cádiz, the stately city of Jerez with its traditional Jerez wine cellars (Sherry), in addition to the amazing Arcos de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a gateway to the Doñana Park, among many other picturesque towns, many of them on the edge of fine sandy beaches and their famous sunsets of the sun looking at the sea, an ephemeral spectacle and every day different.
