Sa Pobla is a busy agricultural market town located inland between Inca and Alcúdia. An important community of around 12.000 inhabitants known for the production of vegetables, especially the delicious potatoes that grow in the fertile soil. The “Fira Nocturna de la Patata” (Potato Festival) takes place here once a year. Traditional and modern potato dishes are served accompanied by live music from local bands. There are many other attractions in and around Sa Pobla. The beautiful beach of Muro (Playa de Muro) is only 10 km away and the drive to Palma airport takes approximately 30 minutes. It is speculated that Sa Pobla was found during the time of the Roman conquest of the island by Consul Quintus Caecilius Metellus in 123 BC. Chr. Some parts are in the Albufera nature reserve, a protected wetland, where it is possible to observe stunning bird species and enjoy your love for hiking and walking. The area around Sa Pobla is a paradise for cyclists. The well-known cycling race „312" begins at the nearby Playa de Muro beach. On the 16th and 17th of January, the city celebrates its patron saint Sant Antoni, with bonfires, a firework show, live music and delicious grill specialties.
