So that we can guarantee this high standard of service, Engel & Völkers Academy has been offering specific training and further education modules since 1996.
Over 2100 people take part in around 220 events on 700 days every year. The training takes place in five different languages: German, English, French, Spanish and Italian. From training for assistants (Ready to assist!), to training for brokers (Ready to sell!) to basic training for licence partners and sales directors (Ready to manage!), the academy offers a wide range of further education options. Our expert know-how relates to three areas of business: Residential, commercial and yachting.
Flexible further training options
The Engel & Völkers Academy has an international presence with over 15 locations in countries including Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, USA Chile, South Africa as well as its Hamburg headquarters. But licence partners or new employees don’t have to travel to Hamburg or even their local academy every time they want training. Diverse learning pathways such as webinars, educational films, knowledge portals and tests allow independent and location-independent further education. Individual prior knowledge/career experience is of course taken into account when choosing seminars.
The seminar “Ready to sell!” is compulsory for all prospective property brokers, while the seminar “Ready to manage” is compulsory for licence partners. Other topics are expert knowledge, legal matters and advanced modules such as acquisitions, deal-closing skills or IT tools. In Germany the Academy also offers the certified qualification “IHK estate agent”, in association with IHK Hanover.
From theory to practice
The theoretical knowledge developed by participants in the seminars is practically applied and perfected in training. For example, concrete activity plans lead to business success. The results are continually evaluated and checked for improvements that could be made.
Estate agents and licence partners of Engel & Völkers have round-the-clock access to the knowledge portal “my life“. Property brokers can get all the information in one compact bundle on their computer at the push of a button. This allows situation-specific questions to be answered directly and without diversion. This also applies to the production of convincing presentations and property profiles.
Training for franchise partners includes comprehensive instruction in the key areas of recruiting, leadership, office management and market management, but also in the role of property brokers themselves. Participants are required to keep themselves informed during further education. Property, particularly in the luxury sector, is a sensitive good, which should be treated with just as much care as its owners.
