Development of Dubai
History of Dubai starts in 1833 when 800 members of the Bani Yes tribe, led by the Maktoum family settled at the mouth of the creek. Dubai creek became a center of fishing, pearling and sea trade.
By 20th century Dubai population increast and rich 20,000, 5,000 of it were expatriates.
In 1950s the creek began to slit, then His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum figured out very visionary project and decided to waterway dradged. Thanks to ambicious idea Dubai’s position as major trading center strengthened.
Oil was discovered in 1966s. Sheikh Rashid used the oil revenues to developed hospitals, schools, roads and telecommunication.
In 1970s Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum created a federation of the Emirates in the region. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quweim, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaiman jointed to create the United Arab Emirates.Soon the UAE developed into one of the most richest countries in the world.
