The Dubai Tour, the professional cycling race of the Emirate, will take place between Tuesday 31st January and Saturday 4th February
The 2017 event will be the 4th edition. The race has been upgraded and will be now divided in 5 stages instead of 4 which will all start from Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC):
- Stage 1: DIMC to Palm Jumeirah (181 km)
- Stage 2: DIMC to Ras Al Khaimah (188 km)
- Stage 3: DIMC to Al Aqah (200 km)
- Stage 4: DIMC to Hatta Dam (172 km)
- Stage 5: DIMC to City Walk (124 km)
Thanks to the participation of well known cyclists such as Mark Cavendish, the tour has been a good promotional vehicle for Dubai tourism but also for bicycles as a mean of transport either for work or leisure.
16 teams (including a UAE National Selection) will be battling out during the 4 day race.
The Tour won't just be about cycling: indeed there will be the Tour Village open in Dubai International Marine Club where adults and children alike will be able to enjoy fun activities, sports and other entertainments. This will also be the place to see the stars of the tour as they will take time to meet and greet their fans, sign autographs and take pictures.
