Hyperloop One announced on Wednesday the first successful test of its new mean of transport, the hyperloop. The trial actually took place back in May at the company's track in Nevada, USA. Instead of testing the pod that will be utilised for passengers' transportation, engineers at Hyperloop One instead trialed a magnetically levitating sled than ran through a tube reaching 110km/h in just 5 seconds.
The company which started back in 2014 in a Los Angeles garage has now 200 people working on the project on three sites between California and Nevada. The team is composed of engineers, welders, machinists, designers and builders.
Dubai will be the first city to benefit from the futuristic mean of transportation as the company is planning to build a route linking Dubai to Abu Dhabi in just 12 minutes (when currently the drive takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes). Their goal is to be operational by 2021 for first passengers transports.
