Innsbruck (countryside): Location and surroundings of this property

The Sellraintal - Alpine and close to the city: Sellrain is located in the Sellraintal valley, a tributary valley of the Inntal valley, at the foot of the 2,577 m high Windegg mountain in the northern Stubai Alps. A total of nine villages form the municipal area, one of which is Sellrain along the Sellrain land road, the component locality Sonnenberg at the slope and the Fotschertal valley branching off at Sellrain. Already in Stone Age the Sellraintal valley was a popular hunting area. The village, however, was first mentioned in written documents in 1289 AD. In the course of time the village was established round the mineral spring of Rothenbrunn, which was already known in Mediaeval times. Today there are several buildings that are worth to be visited, such as the pilgrimage church St. Quirin, which is the oldest church of the municipality and the entire valley.
The Stubai Alps around the Sellraintal are crossed by countless marked paths and paths. Even exciting round trips over several days from hut to hut or hikes are possible in addition to numerous day hikes and challenging mountain tours. Due to the altitude, you can experience real winters in the Sellrain valley and its side valleys, where you can enjoy the snow-covered winter landscape without the hustle and bustle.
