A house can always increase in its valuation. But how about an increase of ten thousand euros? You think it is unreal! However, this is what happened in Belgium during the third quarter of the previous year.
An apartment now costs 195 thousand euros. The price of a detached house with four open facades is currently 300 thousand euros. As for terraced and semi-detached houses, which are characterised by having just two or three open facades, these cost on average 215 thousand euros. This increase corresponds to increases of 5.5 per cent, 3.4 per cent and 4.9 per cent respectively for each type of dwelling compared to the asking prices posted the previous year for the same properties. We can therefore reasonably say that your home will consequently rise in value to the tune of ten thousand in record time!
Real estate prices in Wallonia
It goes without saying that Wallonia has the lowest property prices around. You can pick up an apartment in the region for 150 thousand euros. Terraced and semi-detached houses with two or three facades can be bought and sold for 150 thousand euros, while detached houses cost an average of 250 thousand euros. This is why real estate in Wallonia remains affordable especially by comparison with other regions, such as Brussels and the Flemish cities, for example.
Real estate prices in Brussels
The real estate sector in Brussels has the most expensive prices. In the Belgian capital, an apartment will cost you around 215 euros compared with 150 in Wallonia - a difference that is difficult to ignore! To purchase a terraced or a semi-detached house, an average of 415 thousand euros will have to be forked out. The most prestigious villas are sold at 825 euros on average – more than enough to break the bank!
Real estate prices in Flanders
Even if property prices in Wallonia have risen most dramatically, houses and apartments located in Flanders are also quite expensive. Consider a price of 240 thousand euros for a semi-detached or a terraced house. For a detached house, you will have to pay 335 thousand euros on average. As for apartments, their price is now 198 thousand euros.
