Engel & Völkers expands its activities in and around Brussels under new management

Following a disagreement with the former franchisee, the license contracts for the Brussels, Wavre and Lasne areas came to an end on December 01, 2023. Leaving these territories free within the E&V network, the company has decided to expand its operations, this time under a 100% company owned structure by E&V, and no longer under a system of franchisees in these regions. Following the success of other cities such as Marbella, Barcelona and Milan, these are the first operations of this type in Belgium.

Since then, the German company has not only opened two new branches, one in Uccle and one in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, but has also taken over the existing licenses in Waterloo and Nivelles, to create a strong unit for the whole regions of Brussels and Walloon Brabant under the general management of former franchisee Marick Schippers. This move underlines the company's determination to strengthen its foothold in Belgium!

Brussels: a key European market

The decision to step up activities in the Belgian capital and Walloon Brabant comes as no surprise, given the consistently high demand for real estate in these regions. Brussels has remarkable potential thanks to its attractive location, political importance and high quality of life, and this will become increasingly apparent as the market develops over the next few years.

In terms of management, Engel & Völkers has turned to Marick Schippers, who until recently held the Waterloo and Nivelles franchises since 2016. Marick Schippers, now General Manager of the Brussels and Walloon Brabant branches, brings impressive experience in sales and business management, as well as a global network that will drive growth in Belgium.

Marick Schippers emphasizes human collaboration to strengthen Engel & Völkers' market position

Marick Schippers says: "I'm determined to strengthen Engel & Völkers' position in the market, with an emphasis on service excellence and a human approach in all collaborations". He is a firm believer in delivering high-quality services, recognizing their importance in an evolving and challenging real estate market, particularly in the context of EU legislative changes. Engel & Völkers is committed to meeting these challenges by offering its expertise and excellent consultation to clients, while ensuring that their needs are met in this dynamic market.

With the expansion of Engel & Völkers and Marick Schippers at the helm, the future looks bright for real estate in Brussels and surrounding areas.

Martine Collette testifies to her enthusiasm

"I'm delighted to see that Engel & Völkers is putting Brussels in the spotlight, and expanding its business jointly with ours in Waterloo and Nivelles. This will enable us to reinforce the values of our company in all regions and intensify collaboration within the network to offer the best service to our clients," says Martine Collette, a real estate agent with Engel & Völkers Waterloo for the past 12 years.

Centralizing the management of these 4 agencies has major advantages: better collaboration, stronger positioning in the country and even greater expansion of our network for sales and customer acquisition.

At the moment, the Engel & Völkers network holds 14 branches across Belgium, and continues to expand. Today in Brussels and Walloon Brabant, tomorrow even closer to you.
