A less known part of Flemish Brabant is the southwest side. The (electoral) cantons Halle and Lennik are rather rural and relatively sparsely populated, and are part of 2 regions that we know under the names Pajottenland and Zenneevallei. The area is recognized as "Regional Landscape", a delimitation that originates from the Nature Decree of 1997.
The Landscape has its own character and a high cultural-historical and natural value. It borders the Landscapes " Flemish Ardennes " in the west, and " Dijleland " in the east.
The Pajottenland stands for an exceptional year because in 2019 it would like to present itself as a region of Bruegel in the Bruegel year. So in addition to the natural beauty, plenty of attention will be paid to culture. This will give tourism a boost, and, who knows, the housing market. This beautiful area is not far from Brussels, just 13 kilometres from the Grand Place in Brussels. An ideal place to live for those who work in Brussels. Yet the southwest side has not yet been 'discovered' by commuters: the population density remains low, and there are only three 'big' cities (Halle, Sint-Pieters-Leeuw and Beersel).
These three municipalities are real estate areas with great potential. Both the house prices and the number of transactions ensure that the brokers have more than enough work here. Beersel in particular is an attractive market for villas.
Engel & Völkers is constantly looking for franchise partners throughout Flemish Brabant. Many municipalities are still available, both in Halle-Vilvoorde and in the district of Leuven.
