The Chateau du Bois d'Arlon will house a hotel and two golf courses

Entrepreneur Roby Schintgen is getting closer to fulfilling his dream of creating one of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe. To carry out this project, the Château du Bois d'Arlon estate will house two 18-hole golf courses and an introductory 9-hole golf course. The hotel space will also be expanded.

This is not a new project; the development of the golf course on the chateau grounds, along the Alron-Virton road, is now well advanced. The estate is located in the municipality of Arlon, near the village of Toernich, in the Belgian province of Luxembourg.

This is a very ambitious project that emanates from the Grand-Ducal businessman Roby Schintgen. The former CEO of the company Sermelux, he acquired the 220 hectares of the Bois d'Arlon in 2013, having previously acquired the chateau converted into a hotel-restaurant. He had also become the owner of the former military site of Callemeyn. The transformation of the recent part and Old Callemeyn is in progress. This man is also behind the real estate project around the roundabout of the fire station, facing Calleymen.

At Bois d'Arlon, not one but two golf courses are planned and a luxury hotel with a Wellness spa. The chateau has many assets including its beautiful veranda overlooking the park. It was built in 1897 by Leon Barbanson to host balls, receptions and hunting parties.

Everything is expected to come together for the project to live up to expectations: a beautiful setting and sandy soil. Beyond golf, Roby Schintgen wants to set up a huge eco-sports resort near the chateau. There will be a restaurant, a hotel, a clubhouse, changing rooms ... there could even be a sports coach. When the project is finished, it might even be possible to consider the organization of European tournaments for all categories and even handigolf for users of wheelchairs.
