Engel & Völkers Wohnen Schweiz reports record revenue in 2021 again

Engel & Völkers Wohnen Schweiz achieved another new revenue record last year. The company’s revenue from brand commissions ascended to more than CHF 46 million and thus exceeded the previous year’s result once again. “It were, in particular, our real estate shops in Ascona, Zug and Bülach, which have been implementing the Engel & Völkers system consistently for years, that contributed to this good result. Likewise, the extremely pleasing developments in locations such as Lugano and Baden, which are both managed by new licence partners, and the distinctive growth in other offices such as Hergiswil, Küsnacht, Rapperswil, Chur and Davos have led to this pleasing increase in revenue,” says Thomas Frigo, Managing Director of Engel & Völkers Wohnen Schweiz.

Residential real estate sales and rentals in second home markets continue to show strong growth

Engel & Völkers Ascona tops the list of best shops in 2021 again. What is evident is that Ticino is more in demand than ever, thanks to its Mediterranean climate and good transport links by train and car. The business volume in this region almost doubled in the past year. An equally good development with very strong growth rates reported also the Lugano location. Chur with its second-home regions of Arosa and Lenzerheide as well as Davos were able to make significant gains, like the second-home markets in general.

We see that holiday flats in Switzerland continue to be in high demand. The desire for an additional possibility of retreat, which is accessible at any time and without restrictions, has priority. It can be said in general, that the topic of housing continues to be of great importance to people. The trend to larger areas, private outdoor spaces and also rural locations has continued to increase.

Outlook: further growth planned

Engel & Völkers’ growth trend in the residential sector in Switzerland is expected to continue in 2022. On the one hand, the allocation of further free licence areas will continue and, on the other hand, area consolidations in existing licence areas are still a possibility. “The real estate market remains competitive. We are facing this situation with a high degree of commitment and will continue to be a reliable partner in all aspects of real estate in the upcoming year. We are happy to assist our customers in all questions concerning home ownership and want to prove our competence in real estate as a professional broker in all areas,“ explains Thomas Frigo.
