Minusio: Location and surroundings of this property

Minusio is a village close to Locarno and lies between Lake Maggiore and Monte Cardada. Minusio is neighbouring Muralto, Orselina, Brione, Contra and Tenero. On the lakeside, called "Rivapiana", the catholic church San Quirico can be found. It was first mentioned in 1313 and in the 18th century it was rebuilt in baroque style. The curch features on the south wall internally remains of roman painting of the 13th century. The roman clock tower dates back to the 13th to 15th century and was used as a watch tower. A public parc offering nice views over the lake and is part of the church. A few steps away, directly at the lake, is located the "Cà di Ferro", a building in castle style. Peter A Pro, a military enterpreneur constructed this property from 1540-1580 as a barack to recruit Swiss mercenaries. Its chapel is from the year 1630.
