Schönenberg: Location and surroundings of this property

Schönenberg is at the southern tip of the Zimmerberg ridge in the Canton of Zurich, a moraine landscape with its own special character formed from a spur of the Linth Glacier. Enjoy the peace and quiet in the forests along the River Sihl, on the banks of the idyllic Tiefenbach Pond, or take in the view of the whole of Lake Zurich and the Alps of Eastern Switzerland from the Humbel observation point. Public transport services are excellent. By taking the post bus to Wädenswil and the urban railway, you will be at Zurich Main Station in 40 minutes, in Einsiedeln in 45 minutes or in Zug within 50 minutes. By car, you can reach all these places in no time thanks to the well-developed road network. Schönenberg offers good shopping facilities. There is a post office, butcher’s, bakery and “Volg” supermarket in the village, as well as several restaurants in which you can treat yourself to culinary delights. The primary school is located at the centre of the village. The secondary school can easily be reached by post bus, and grammar and vocational schools in the surrounding municipalities can also be reached by public transport. The countryside offers sports enthusiasts the ideal setting for restorative walks, and at 700 metres above sea level is usually above the fog often found in lower regions of the canton. There are also numerous cycling paths and a luxurious golf course. Wädenswil offers an indoor pool and tennis courts as well as various fitness and sports facilities.
