Pascal Kolly, real estate agent at Engel & Völkers in Zug, has discovered the secret to huge professional success. He has been named Swiss Top Agent three years in a row. In this interview, he discusses his career and the secret to his success.

Pascal, how did you start out as a real estate agent?
Pascal Kolly:
Architecture and interior design have always been among my passions. And I’ve always been very service-focused, too. Back then, I was probably just in the right place at the right time. This little bit of luck and my personal interests ultimately led me to become a real estate agent.
Did you ever have any moments of doubt or existential anxiety?
Of course. There is always a certain degree of respect for the role and the goals. But it’s important that this anxiety doesn’t destroy your motivation and confidence. For me, it’s always been important to believe in myself and to work hard. My managers’ backing and positive attitude were also a constant motivation for me. That’s why I returned to Engel & Völkers after a short break.
You have been among Engel & Völkers’ Top Agents in Switzerland for several years now. What’s your recipe for success?
It’s very simple: you have to sow the seeds of success in order to reap its rewards. In real estate, it’s also important to stay authentic, as it’s a ‘people business’ first and foremost. Maintaining your own network is key to success. Despite the modern opportunities offered by social media and personal branding, I prefer face-to-face contact with people.
