At the end of the 20th century Anděl – the most famous part of the commercial district – has undergone an extensive revitalization. An important business center including OC Nový Smíchov grew up here, so it became a home of many prestigious companies. Despite the original industrial character, which is now historically valuable, there are several notable landmarks and attractive places, such as the garden of Kinsky, summerhouse in baroque style Portheimka, Neo-Renaissance St. Wenceslas church, summerhouse Klamovka, etc. Nearby there are two large parks - Sacré Coeur and Diezenhoferovy sady.
There are all civic amenities, schools, grammar schools and leisure facilities, including medical facilities, pharmacies, post office, specialty shops, shopping centers, restaurants and cafes. Except of boutiques, specialty shops, supermarkets and restaurants the shopping center Nový Smíchov in Anděl offers also an unique 4D cinema. The city center can be easily reached from the station Smichovské nádraží by metro as well as by trams or buses.
