Staré Město: Location and surroundings of this property

The Old Town (or Staré Město) is undoubtedly the most desirable and the most beautiful area in Prague. Located on the right bank of the river, this area covers 129 hectares and belongs to the Prague 1 district. The Old Town is located on land and includes the Střelecký Island on the river Vltava. This historical centre is full of famous sites, expensive stores, and restaurants. Among the well-known historical sights is the Old Town Square (or Staroměstské Náměstí), the city hall, the astronomical clock, and the memorial of Jan Hus. There are also other sacral memorials such as St. Nicolas Church (or Kostel Sv. Mikuláše), Church of St. Mary (or Kostel Matky Boží před Týnem), and Ungelt Theatre. Also Worth mentioning is the Municipal Hall (Obecní Dům), Prašná Gates, Klementinum, Charle’s Bridge (Karlův Most), Goltz-Kinsky Palace (palác Golz-Kinských), and the House at The Stone Bell (Dům u Kamenného Zvonu).
