The village of Horoměřice is situated at the north-western border of the capital city of Prague, on the II / 240 road in the Central Bohemia Region. It is adjacent to the Prague 6 - Suchdol, Lysolaje, Nebušice and city district of Prague - Přední Kopanina, as well as to metropolitan districts - Statenice and Únětice. It lies in the open countryside, which slopes in the south of the Šárecký brook valley, on the east it is bounded by the valley of the Vltava River, in the north the terrain slopes to the Únětický stream. The south and west of the village terrier are lined with forest lanes of green. There are three small ponds directly in Horoměřice. Kozí hřbety mountains are extending from the center of the village towards the northeast. These boulders rocks used to be bare, now they are covered with vegetation. There are approximately 4 000 inhabitants living in the village. Horoměřice is a popular holiday area of Prague. There are several garden and cottage settlements, where a number of Prague people like to spend their free time. Neverthless, the village is mainly a favorite destination for hikers and people who are looking for a nice walk. There are many marked hiking trails and newly also cycling routes. Tourist signs will lead to Šárka, Lysolaje and Suchdola, to Gabrielka, Housle, Kozí hřbety, Juliána, as well as to the forest of Tuchoměřice, Únětice, Holý vrch, Roztoky, Tichý Údolí, through Statenice to Okoř Castle, etc. A great opportunity for the visitors of the village it is to see low-flying aircraft heading to the nearby Ruzyně airport.
