To coincide with the recent opening of the Engel & Völkers Market Center in Athens, the Greek edition of the Huffington Post invited Christian Völkers for an interview. In the interview, the company founder and CEO of Engel & Völkers revealed what potential he sees for Greece, how he believes the global real estate market will develop and what plans he has for the future of his company.
Since the sovereign debt crisis in 2010, investors have been cautious about the Greek real estate market. Nevertheless, Christian Völkers has no doubt that the situation will change significantly in the coming years. The founder of Engel & Völkers was confronted with similar circumstances when he entered the Spanish market seven years ago. Today, Spain is one of the most important markets for Engel & Völkers.
Also for the global real estate market, Christian Völkers prognosticates a positive development. He sees his company well-positioned for the future thanks to its locations in stable markets. The expansion of the Engel & Völkers brand into further international regions is planned for the near future.
