"Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world." This was a quote from Nelson Mandela, who could not have be more eloquent about the importance of good education for society as a whole. We at Engel & Völkers in Barcelona support multiple initiatives with educational background, contributing to improve the training of the young and the not so young, as well as the promotion of sports. This is why we are proud to present our latest collaboration agreement with the Agora International School of Barcelona study centre.
Undoubtedly, education in values and multilingualism are some of the mainstays of a good training plan. Both elements are highly present in the curriculum with which Agora International work. This is an institution with a marked global projection that aims to train young people to work with ease around the world. The English language is present in all the levels that are taught in the centre, with eighteen native English speaking teachers who can speak Shakespeare's language. Together with these foreign professionals, the teaching staff working at these facilities are a total of 65 highly qualified teachers. Chinese, German and French are also taught.
The educational programme of Agora International includes all pre-university educational levels (children, primary, secondary and high school). In addition, this last level includes the international baccalaureate modality, which allows students to obtain a double degree (Spanish plus a foreign language). The centre also organises numerous events of all kinds both in Barcelona and abroad. One of its most popular programs is student exchanges with other international centres. This way, students can interact with other cultures from the academic field, promoting multiculturalism and introducing the professionals of tomorrow into the reality of a globalised world.
Given that there are many other skills for students to learn, Agora International attaches great importance to musical, sports, and creative arts. In fact, the first project of this renowned studies centre in which Engel & Völkers in Barcelona has participated has been of a sporting nature. Specifically, on March 3rd, Engel & Völkers Barcelona collaborated with Agora International in the organisation of the 6th regional swimming championship, which took place in the remarkable facilities of Agora in Sant Esteve Sesrovires. More than three hundred swimmers in children's categories were allowed to participate in the tournament with a high audience attendance.
Engel & Völkers in Barcelona has joined forces with the educational project of Agora International. We do it with full knowledge of the cause, since we appreciate how our professionals develop before clients from multiple nationalities. We will continue to improve with the best teachers.
