Barcelona is a city in which, at any time of the year, it is possible to find many things to do. But when summer comes, the list of activities grows even more. Therefore, on this occasion, we want to take the opportunity to mention the top events that are held in this city during the month of June.
1. The Week of the Hotel Terraces
The Hotel Terrace Week is yet again one of the most anticipated events for Barcelona residents and those who visit the city during the month of June. This is the seventh edition and, on the occasion of its celebration, 66 hotels in the Ciudad Condal will open their terraces for tastings, workshops, children's activities, dance classes, gastronomic demonstrations and much more. Without doubt, this is a great offer to get off to a good start in the summer.
2. The Verbena of San Juan
La Verbena de San Juan could not be missed out of this list. Like every year, on the night of 23rd to 24th June, which are the shortest nights of the year, the beaches of Ciudad Condal are filled with partying, leisure activities and, above all, fire. It is a tradition to go in groups and to light a small campfire on which, only the most daring are encouraged to jump with the purpose of chasing away bad luck and negative omens. The party will literally go on until the sun rises.

3. The weekend markets
The centre of Barcelona as well as some of its outer neighbourhoods are filled with markets where you can literally buy anything. In fact, it is not difficult to find everything from second-hand clothing and accessories to vinyl records. There is no doubt that this is an ideal activity for Sunday mornings. Also, you never know when you can find a real bargain.
4. Cycle of films at the Filmoteca de Catalunya
Another activity that never fails in the form of Filmoteca de Catalunya. This event is specially prepared for the arrival of June with lots of movies on offer. In addition, the event will be attended by some of its creators, who will not hesitate to answer the questions of those attending the show. You can watch films such as, 'The Golem', a classic from the Russian cinematography, or more modern titles like 'The main du diable'.
If you are going to spend this June in Barcelona, you can be sure that you will not get bored. Whether you will be travelling alone, as a couple or with your children, the city offers a thousand and one different things to see and do.
